As women, having babies changes our lives in more ways than one, yes we now have precious bundles and we now have a new body shape to dress. Many women I have spoke to (and myself included) have struggled with 'baby fat', the extra pounds we put on during pregnancy that just won't go away. I have found a little secret that I am happy to share, it worked for me and I expect it will work for others as well. I used to avoid mirrors because I didn't like seeing the extra pounds I was carrying. I went so far as to dress in loose fitting larger-than-needed to hide the weight. What I didn't realize is those clothes made me feel worse. I didn't want to purchase clothes that fit me at the time because I was planning on losing weight and it didn't make sense for me to spend money on clothes that wouldn't fit me. As time went on I found myself feeling less and less attractive and the vicious cycle continued to spin downward. Then the turning point came. I was talked into trying on an outfit that fit me perfectly at the time, I was shocked, not only looked good but I felt amazing in it. My first concern was I was accepting my size as okay and it would not longer be important to me to change it. What I discovered is the opposite, because I felt so good in that outfit my emotional state changed and I started dropping my weight. One outfit did that for me and today I have that outfit comfortably tucked away in a drawer where I can see it periodically. Looking at it doesn't remind me how big I was at the time, the only thoughts I have when I see it is how fabulous I looked in it. It was money well spent and it continues to give me that feel good feeling. I love how I look today, I went from a size 10/12 pant to a size 6/8 and I feel fabulous. For those of you that can identify with this story find hope and comfort in knowing the key to losing that baby fat includes sensible eating, exercise and a healthy state of mind. Start where you are right now, find that outfit that makes you feel amazing and go from there. Yay! I love this story and philosophy. Thanks so much for sharing! We have this same discussion with women all the time. You need to feel good NOW - no matter your size! Life is too short to put on hold until...
